And there are layers of mythology at work here: not just the inner mythologies of people figuring out who they are in relation to others, but the mythologies of magic, and relationships, both familial and romantic. There is nothing about this book that I can recommend . It is so badly written and makes absolutely no sense. The author seems to have taken every idea they might have had and jumbled them all together and called it a book. Don't waste your time or money on it.
This is a very fun read. Bae clearly know her music, and it's fun to connect with the characters thru their musical taste. It is a great meld of genres, sexy and playful, yet dramatic and suspenseful. I loved the characters, magic, setting, and concept.
A great escapist read. I can't wait for the sequel.
I love this book so much. It's sexy and mysterious and I got sucked into the story right away and couldn't put it down. It's an easy read so a perfect choice for vacation or just when you want to escape with some fiction for a little while.
The perfect sexy fantasy to help me escape real life for a few hours. Super fun to read with a plot that really sucked me in. I found the characters easy to relate to even with their supernatural powers. I'm ready for the next book from this talented new author!

An engaging and sexy story of witches, FBI agents, hopeful youths, and the fashion and music which shapes their personalities, this book was exactly what the doctor ordered for escaping the everyday stresses of work, family, and politics.
I have and will continue to HIGHLY recommend Shivers to anyone looking for a charmingly fun and exciting story of love and self-discovery.
This is fun, smart, sexy and deeply entertaining. I loved the deep attention to music and style from the '90s, the banter between the main characters and the smutty stuff is so well done. (Oh, and the angst is painful/funny, as late teen angst should be). I will be purchasing this for a bunch of friends the ladies who like their sexy reads, the ones who like a bit of bi-play, the fans of witchy/otherwordly fun, and the vinyl and comic book collecting nerds (who like at least one of the aforementioned.). It's gonna be like a kinda-kinky christmas for my friends!
